Hello Chaps!
Welcome classes of 2019 and 2022! I am thrilled I get to be your English teacher this year. We are going to have a great year developing reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. I can't wait to get to know you all! I use my website to post the basic lessons/assessments we do on a weekly basis so you know what to expect and what materials you will need to bring to class with you each day. Make sure to charge those iPads!
I use Google Classroom for hand outs and such, and most work will be submitted into turnitin.com. I love teaching English because it is literature driven. We are going to discuss all about what makes a good story. We will study novels, plays, and poems. We will write responses, essays, timed writes, tap into our creativity, and have a lot of fun while building skills. This is my 21st year of teaching, and I'm excited I get to spend it with you all.
Grab a great book, and I'll see you on Wednesday!
Please know my door is always open.
Warmly,
Lee Carnes

“A book, too, can be a star, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.” — Madeleine L’Engle
